Doe River Gorge Family Waterpark Adventure

Join us Saturday,July 29th for a fun day trip to Hampton, TN, to Doe River Gorge, for day of family fun.

There are water zip lines, waterslides, a sandy beach, swimming, train rides, the “blob”, and much more.  Check out their website at doerivergorge.com.  The cost will be $18.00 per person, with children seven and below getting in free.  We have to purchase tickets in advance.  Please sign-up by July 10, with the church office, to reserve your space. 

Payment must be made by July 15.

SunnySider's Annual Grandparent & Grandkids Hot Dog Picnic

Picnic at Sycamore Flats, Davidson River

This annual event will be on Tuesday, July 18. Please sign up by calling Sandra Johnson (828)667-4082, so we will know how many to prepare for.  This coach will not be available, so meet at the church at 10:30 to carpool. Bring a lawn chair and a picnic-type side dish or dessert.  Hot dogs, buns, drinks, condiments, and dinnerware will be provided by the Senior Council.  This is an open invitation to all grandparents.

On Sundays June 11th & 18th new and potential members are invited to participate in Discover Hominy! a two session gathering in the conference room designed to help you get to know Hominy Baptist Church.

We will:

·  Meet other newcomers.

·  Explore what it can mean to be Baptist.

·  Find out how our church got to where it is today. 

·  See where we want to be in the future. 

·  Discover how you can find a home and a place of service here.

DayStay Bluegrass and BBQ

Slow-cooked pork bbq + 4 bluegrass bands!

The bluegrass line-up includes: John Fullam and John Hardy Party Old Time String Band; Sons of Ralph; Buncombe Turnpike; and The Doghouse Band.

Tickets are $10.00 for entertainment plus a slow-cooked pork barbeque plate with slaw, beans, hush puppies, pound cake, and beverage. Children’s plates and take-out will be available.

Tenebrae Good Friday Service

Tenebrae means “shadows,” and during this service, a series of candles are extinguished as the last day of Christ’s life is remembered through scripture, prayer, and song. We enter and exit in silence, anticipating the glory of Easter Sunday.

Maundy Thursday Service

This night we recall that on the night before he died Jesus took bread and wine and gave us a way to remember Him. What did the people in that room think? How did it change them? How can it change us? Gather around the communion table with us in worship.

Palm Sunday


All children are invited to participate in the Palm Processional through the sanctuary at 10:45. Meet downstairs in the youth room at 10:40 to line up.

After worship and a Hot Dog Lunch ( $3 Children $5 Adults) we will begin the Easter Egg Hunt, with areas set up for three age groups on the playground and ball field
