Maundy Thursday Service

Maundy Thursday celebration. On this night we remember and celebrate the final supper Jesus shared with his disciples in the context of the Passover, when the people of Israel observed their liberation from Egypt. The Last Supper was Christ’s observance of the Seder-the Passover Eve Service.

You are invited to join us for the Virginia Creeper Bike Trail Ride.  Call the church office to signup. Our annual bike ride on the Virginia Creeper Trail (Abingdon, Virginia),  is set for Saturday, May 4th.  Charles Kirby is our “go-to” in making arrangements.  Stay tuned for further details.

Palm Sunday

On Palm Sunday, April 14, everyone is invited to a free hot dog lunch. Monetary donations are welcome for the cost of the food & activities.

We need donations of individually wrapped candy and plastic eggs for the Easter egg hunt following lunch. 

If you can help, please bring those to the room across from the church office before Monday, April 8.

Ladies Craft Night

Ladies' come and join the fellowship!!!

April 12: Lesson 2 (of 4) – Let the fun begin! 

In this lesson we will learn the different styles of scrapbooking and begin to learn your personal style. Based on your own style and your scrapbooking goals – we will determine the best way for you to preserve your memories.  You will also complete your first 3 pages! 

April will teach this in a series of 4 lessons beginning at 6:00pm.  Email April with any questions aprilwise2001@gmail.com.

Youth Winter Retreat

We will gather at the church at 9 AM on Saturday January 19 and head the location of our service project. 

We will be engaging in missions projects throughout the area on Saturday and have a feast Saturday night with games afterwards. Pick up from church at 9 PM on Saturday Night.

Directly after the service on Sunday Morning, we will engage in a fun activity. This activity will be finalized as soon as the type of weather we are expecting is predicted. Stay tuned for updates.

Pick up at church at 7 PM on Sunday January 20.

Room in the Inn

Twice a year we welcome women from the A Hope Women's Shelter to stay for a week at Hominy Baptist Church. Volunteers help with meals, transportation, entertainment and overnight hosting. Please contact Melissa Hughes or Kody Joyner to find out how and when you can help.

We collectively gather up the pain of the past into our hands, offer it to God, and ask that we might receive from God’s hands the gift of peace.

Join us for this quiet service of comfort and reflection.

Ladies Craft Day

It’s finally here --- the long-awaited

ALL-DAY Ladies’ Craft Day

The day will begin at 9am and go through 9pm.  This is a great time to finish all of those projects you started this year or to make those treasured handmade Christmas gifts! 

April Wise will be teaching us how to make a custom iron-on t-shirt.  If you are interested in making one – you will need to bring your own new t-shirt plus the cost is $3.00 for the iron on materials. Fruit of the Loom works great, so do the t-shirts from Target – long or short sleeve – no v-necks.  You can bring a colored tee or a white one.

Bring a snack to share throughout the day and a heavy appetizer for lunch (chips, dip, finger sandwiches, etc.).  Dinner will be provided - we will be having taco soup around 5:00pm.  To help with planning – please RSVP before Thursday, Nov. 29.  You can RSVP through the Ladies Craft Night Facebook page or email April at aprilwise2001@gmail.com.

Cancelled-Deck the Halls Night

Cancelled since Enka District Schools are out today. The decorations will be put up by impromptu groups as soon as possible. Please check FB or call the church office if you would like to participate.

We will have dinner at 5:30 pm and then split into groups to put up and decorate Christmas Trees throughout our campus. Come and fellowship with us!!
