Tenebrae means “shadows,” and during this service, a series of candles are extinguished as the last day of Christ’s life is remembered through scripture, prayer, and song. We enter and exit in silence, anticipating the glory of Easter Sunday.
This night we recall that on the night before he died Jesus took bread and wine and gave us a way to remember Him. What did the people in that room think? How did it change them? How can it change us? Gather around the communion table with us in worship.
All children are invited to participate in the Palm Processional through the sanctuary at 10:45. Meet downstairs in the youth room at 10:40 to line up.
After worship and a Hot Dog Lunch ( $3 Children $5 Adults) we will begin the Easter Egg Hunt, with areas set up for three age groups on the playground and ball field
Please bring any new or very gently used blankets with you to worship. Every blanket collected will go to help those in need stay warm this winter.
Due to cold temperatures and icy conditions there will be no Bible Study or Worship this Sunday. Deacons Meeting has also been postponed until Jan 15.
Start the New Year with worship!
Bible Study groups will not meet.
Come and Worship! Come and Worship! Come and Worship the Newborn King!
Bible Study groups will not meet today but we gather as a faith family for an informal and abbreviated service to remember why we celebrate Christmas.
We conclude Advent and prepare our hearts for Christmas with a candlelight communion service filled with music and light. We welcome Appalachian musician Ann Lough as our guest.
This Hominy tradition allows us to worship with our family of faith and still spend the holidays with our families in worship and celebration.
