Paul Raybon

Co-Pastor

A native of Marietta, Georgia, I am married to Anne Selman Raybon, and we have two married adult children, Will and Kate. As “empty nesters” we enjoy reading, watching movies, traveling, and spending time with our dog and cats. I cherish this remarkable congregation that actively extends love and grace to the community like no other church I know.

I came to Hominy in 2006 as Minister of Administration and Outreach. In addition to my responsibilities at church I am a certified Christian Leadership Coach, and partner with the Barnabas Partnership and enjoy working as a volunteer leader with CBFNC and WNC Baptist Campus Ministries.

Kevin McDaniel

Pastor to Students

Kevin came to Hominy as our Pastor to Students and Community Engagement in January 2020. He is originally from Morristown, TN and has lived and served in western NC since 2014. Kevin and his wife Laura have two sons; Todd and Jack.

“My family and faith are extremely important to me. And it is my faith that challenges me and forces me to stretch the idea of who is my family. I see a great need for love and belonging in the lives of the people I interact with on a daily basis. My biggest passion in life is ensuring that everyone I interact with knows that they are valued and loved for who they are.”

Melissa Hughes

Co-Pastor

I have served on the staff at Hominy since 1997, first in the church office until 2007, and then as the Minister to Families from 2007-22. I was called to be the permanent Co-Pastor in October, 2022.

It has been a blessing to serve in this amazing congregation. My husband, Greg, and my three children, Matthew, Kelsie, and Grace, also feel that Hominy is their home. My granddaughter is also learning what a special place Hominy truly is. It is a place where I would encourage anyone looking for a church to begin and end their search. Everyone is welcome here! If you have a willing heart and a desire to serve, then Hominy is for you.

Kristen Dominguez
Minister of Music and Creative Worship

I have been blessed to be a part of the music ministry at Hominy over the years in various capacities as pianist, interim choir director, and now as Minister of Music and Creative Worship. I am married to David, and we are parents to two young adults, Kaemon and Kaeddin. In addition to all things musical and artistic, I enjoy reading, cooking, sewing, hiking, travel, and spending time with my family. One of the highlights of being involved in the music and worship ministry here at Hominy is to provide meaningful worship tools for all members to use to draw closer to God. I love working with groups and individuals to creatively share the gospel through our skills and talents.

Andy Gibson
Executive Director, Hominy Baptist Child Care

Originally from Boston, I moved to Madison County in 1974, and had a wonderful childhood at Mars Hill and AC Reynolds. I have been fortunate enough to be involved with many fine organizations such as FBC Asheville, Blue Ridge DD Services, and Irene Wortham Center. The mission I live by is helping all children by providing a safe, welcoming, and educational atmosphere. I see great things on the horizon for Hominy Baptist Child Care and I am happy to be a part of the Hominy Baptist family.
