We are not in a time of crisis, but we are in a time of discerning and making major decisions about our path forward. You will remember that in January, in response to a sharp drop in state funding and income for Hominy Baptist Child Care in 2025, we approved a revised Ministry Budget for the remainder of the fiscal year through June 2026. Your generosity in the Fall, coupled with wise adjustments in revenue and expenses, helped make that a soft landing, without huge disruptions to ministry, staffing, and programming.

Both our congregational giving and the Child Care income have the capacity to grow to meet and even exceed our needs. But our greatest resource is God’s generosity with us. We would be foolish and unfaithful to fail to seek guidance from God, who loves us more than we can imagine, and who dreams for us a future beyond our vision. In conversations with deacons and other key leaders, we all realized we need to talk to God about this, about where we are and where God wants us to be.

So we call our congregation to pray for our families, our church, our community, and our world, seeking God’s wisdom and provision for us to be the church that God calls us to be, to enter into conversations with God, offering our gratitude and our needs before our Lord.

Each group, led by a pair of deacons, will meet at least once during the month of March. Groups are organized by deacon families but anyone can attend any meeting.
