Hominy Child Care & Afterschool

Serving over forty children from birth through grade school in beautiful facilities with top quality staff and programming, Hominy Child Care was adopted on June 5, 1985 from Buncombe County Childcare Services to become a ministry of the church to the community. Our child care program provides a loving atmosphere in which the spiritual, social, cognitive, physical and emotional development of children ages 6 weeks through 5 years can be nurtured. through individual and group activities our program provides each child with the opportunity to develop a positive self image and self-help skills. The Afterschool Program is provided for  elementary school children who are walked over from Candler Elementary.

 

Hominy Child Care is a licensed 4 star center. Staff are trained annually in early childhood education topics, infant/child CPR and First Aid. The center is open year round, full-time, Monday- Friday 7:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. except for major holidays. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack are served. Cots and sheets are provided for rest time.
